Legacy Treasury Direct is being phased out. Purchases, reinvestments, new accounts, and incoming transfers no longer are available in the program.
Legacy Treasury Direct customers hold Treasury securities directly with the U.S. Treasury, without a broker. Customers manage their accounts by mail or phone.
Electronic Services for Treasury Bills, Notes, and Bonds
September 30, 2013, was the last day of operation for Electronic Services for Treasury Bills, Notes, and Bonds. For service, customers may call 800-722-2678 and speak with a customer service representative. Representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays. (From outside the United States, call 304-480-6464.)
You can download or order forms online or order them by calling 800-722-2678. Among the most requested forms are:
- Security Transfer Request (PDF 5179) transfers securities out of Legacy Treasury Direct or between Legacy accounts.

Legacy Treasury Direct charges a fee in only one circumstance. If your account holds more than $100,000, we charge an annual fee of $100.
